If you're able to play golf on Christmas, that's a gift a lot of your fellow hackers would love to have. So, take advantage of the opportunity to tee it up on Christmas morning -- especially if you have kids and they gift you a new box of golf balls.
But don't just play your run-of-the-mill game, particularly if it's with your regular group. Have a little fun with it, playing with a Christmas-themed game.
Try the idea of a Yankee Swap. Every player brings a different sleeve of golf balls wrapped to the first tee. The player who wins the traditional tee flip has to pick a sleeve to unwrap first. (It can't be their sleeve.) The next player can choose that sleeve to hang onto, or can choose to open another sleeve. This continues until all four sleeves have been opened and all four players have had a chance to swap out their ball, meaning the tee flip winner goes last. Then you play with that sleeve the entire round, with the lowest score earning a few bucks and a 19th hole egg nog.
