First and foremost, golf is about fun, and that doesn't always mean your standard, 18-hole golf round. So we here at the Billy Casper Digital Network want to open your eyes to golf games that spice up your weekly foursome. In this week's Games to Play, we look at one great for players of all skill levels: Bingo, Bango, Bongo.
Bingo, Bango, Bongo (BBB) is a points-based game, with three points available on every hole:
- Bingo goes to the player who gets on the green first
- Bango goes to the player whose ball is closest to the hole once everyone gets on the green
- Bongo goes to the player who holes out first
The great thing about BBB is that it keeps higher-handicap players in it against their better-performing peers, particularly because of the Bango and Bongo points. The better player may hit the green first, but may have a 40-footer for birdie, while another player may chip it close, but for a tap-in bogey.
It all kind of works out in the end and keeps the round fun and exciting (especially with a few friendly dollars or drinks on the line). So give it a try next time you're on the course and see how quickly you start shouting nonsense words to your playing partners.
