Take a trip to the circus in this week's Global Golf Post

If you didn't know any better, you might not notice that you could be teeing off a piece of Americana at Berkshire Valley Golf Course. The property was once part of the estate of Alfred Ringling, one of the Ringling brothers of circus fame. On the 1,000-acre property, among other things, was an elephant house. Ruins of that house were integrated into the tee pod at the par-3 12th hole, creating a fascinating connection to a bygone era of excess.

Speaking of excess, Billy Horschel won an excess of money -- $11.44 million -- on Sunday at the Tour Championship in Atlanta. The new papa and FedEx Cup champion secured his second consecutive PGA Tour for the biggest payday in golf.
