Why 'Take Your Kids To Work Day' Means More at BCG

On April 25th, Billy Casper Golf participated in “Bring Your Child To Work Day” or as we call it, “Bring Your Lil’ Buffalos To Work Day”. Our Lil’ Buffalo aged 3 to 15 participated in various activities that not only walked them through what we do as a company, but also helped them grow their knowledge of the industry. We had putt-putt stations, creative crafts, department meet and greets and the BCG Team topped it all off with an on-course visit to 1757 Golf Club and Launchbox Golf powered by TopTracer technology.

While at 1757, they were introduced to special activities set up to encourage a few hours of golf fun with ShortGolf! An exciting first touch playing and coaching system, ShortGolf emulates the real game of golf while making it easier and more enjoyable for kids and adults alike. With the help of instructors from our northern Virginia partner courses, Reston National and 1757 Golf Club, our lil’ Buffalos were exposed to all facets of the game. Short game stations included putting green obstacles with  PGA Teaching Professional, Cathy Kim  and Reston National’s Head of Instruction Shaun Strand, chipping with Assistant Director of Instruction Josh Sweeney and 100-yard shots PGA Teaching Professional Scott Holmes. Sounds fun right?

Director of Player Development and Instruction Steve Loesher and his team stress the importance of junior golf at all BCG facilities. Steve’s model is simple – “make the kids have so much fun that they want to come back and do it again”.
Our Billy Casper Golf herd extends beyond our employees to include their families. Educating the younger generations on our role in the golf industry is part of our endeavor, to grow the game and leave the industry better than we found it!
