2014 Gift Guide: Golf accessories

Seamus Golf headcovers

Welcome into the latest installment of the Billy Casper Digital Network's 2014 Gift Guide. So far, we've looked at drivers and golf balls, but now we're turning to accessories.

In golf, accessories are the accent pieces that make a round of golf more convenient, more fun or more colorful. They're completely optional, but the refined golfer knows the little touches that help them enjoy the game more.

With that in mind, we offer a trio of accessories you might want to consider.

Arccos Golf (MSRP: $400): If you want to get better at golf, you have to know what's keeping you from better scores. Arccos Golf is the product to help you learn just that -- and if what you're doing to fix your problem areas in actually helping. The product comes with nubs that are inserted in the butt end of the grip of each of your clubs that are then paired with your Apple device via Bluetooth. Arccos automatically recognizes when you swing the club and tracks your shots over the course of a round in conjunction with the mobile device's GPS unit. You get stats and feedback in real time, as well with more data and analysis afterward. You'll learn how well you do in five facets of the game, as well patterns in how you approach golf. It's a great investment in your game.

Seamus Golf headcovers (MSRP: $40-$65): Headcovers serve a dual purpose: They stop your clubs from getting dinged up while sloshing around in the golf bag and to make a fashionable statement. Seamus Golf headcovers excel at both with brilliant simplicity. Stitched by hand in Oregon, the headcovers look beautiful, often favoring tartan patterns. The headcovers come in driver, fairway wood and hybrid styles, as well two different types of pouches.

Sun Mountain Combo Push Cart (MSRP: $470): If you love to walk when you play but don't like lugging a bag around, then a push cart is for you. This Sun Mountain cart, while expensive, has most everything you need to enjoy the game and conserve energy. The bag and frame fold up together so there's no mess of unfurling the frame, then loosely strapping the bag into it. The bag has 14-way dividers and is designed to keep your clubs in place on the frame. It also has a seat that folds out and provides a sturdy place to sit if you have a few seconds -- or minutes -- to wait while playing.
